The smoke from the Pirates Kake draws me in. But this is just TOO much. Opened 3 month old tin and found the dryness/wetness to be perfect. Even so, I don't find the nicotine strength to be particularly remarkable. This is fun in so many ways. I revisited me old block of Pirate Kake about a week ago, and found it had dried quite a bit more than I wanted it to. Very nice, i gotta get me some more of this. Earthy, smoky, salty, leathery and full. So Im not sure if its a good idea or not but I went thru a pound in a week. Very pleasing billows a white smoke. Its toasty, slightly nutty, with a mild briny tartness underlying everything. Absolutely no indication of bite even when puffing vigorously. I can't get it to bite, and the presentation (though messy to prepare), is outstanding. That being said, I wouldnt recomm end this to a Latakia newbie, I think itd be way too much. Way too much for my taste, while I had taste smoking this sample. All the devotion to Nightcap ought to be transferred to PK, because this is what a deep,rich English ought to taste like. The blend becomes so smooth that it's almost like smoking nothing. The crumble cake is a lot of fun to handle and the smoke is very rewarding, even if it is a little light in the nicotine department. A must try for the latakia lover . The small amount of Turkish and Burley stands up evenly to the seventy five percent of Latakia. It's like coffee---I adore a perfectly balanced cup of single origin SL24 varietal Kenyan, but at a certain point, it's about the transaction. I really like this one. Tastes like Karo Syrup and Latikia. The Latakia is good and the other tobaccos play well with it. If you really like Latakia buy a ounce or two & you will be in Latakia Heaven! c.
